Ben Kingsley, Jonas Armstrong, Walking with the Enemy

walking iconAll updates, however small are a good thing in the case of Walking with the Enemy so this is just to let you know that the website main image has been updated! :D

Check out http://walkingwiththeenemy.com/

Let’s hope we’ll get a definitive release date soon, as articles keep on speculating. This time from the Budapest Times : mentioning it’s due to be released at the end of the year. Fingers crossed as that would mean the film could be eligible to enter the 2014 Award season instead of entering it in 2015.

Ben Kingsley, Jonas Armstrong, screening, Walking with the Enemy

walking icon From today and for the upcoming two weeks, cinema goers near Minneapolis will have the chance to see an advanced screening of Walking with the Enemy starring Jonas Armstrong and Ben Kingsley at the Main Street Theatre!

The full schedule (times & dates) have now been added so if you live nearby: Go Go Go! :D

If you’d like to learn more, do read this article from the local news as they’re very pleased they got the opportunity to host the advanced screenings and they added a lovely new poster image as well.

The Facebook page of Walking with the Enemy updated us with a brand new poster and guess you can all see it says: 2014 as release date. So again if you can grab a chance to view it at an advanced screening, don’t hesitate!

All You Need is Kill – Release date pushed back

Jonas Armstrong, All You Need is Kill, Warner Bros., Tom Cruise, release date, Emily Blunt

aynik icon1According to reports: Warner Bros. decided to push back the release date of All You Need is Kill from March to the 6th of June 2014. (perhaps 30th of May depending where you live)

The Sci -Fi epic action blockbuster starring Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt and Jonas Armstrong will now be added to the summer schedule which is rather cool! :D

Though it has to be said, Warner Bros. does make a habit of changing release dates…I’m sure fellow Harry Potter fans will know what I’m on about. ;)

I just hope this doesn’t mean we’ve to wait 3 months longer to get the first stills or any other promo material, or why not a confirmation & info on Jonas Armstrong’s character name ‘Skinner’? Ahem yeah that last one would be a good start. It’s just that when you check in on imdb, you actually get names and ranks of the extras, instead of some of the main actors which is a bit annoying.

From May 10th for two weeks the Main Street Theatre will be showing it exclusively as a test screening. So if you live nearby why not go and be one of the first audience members to see it. :D (ahem would be quite cool if you could report back as well ;)

All details can be found on the Main Street Theatre website and their Facebook page too!

See Walking with the Enemy Exclusively at the Main Street Theatre!

Sauk Centre’s Main Street Theatre recently picked up a big feather in its hat when the producer of a World War II-era movie announced his desire to run a special showing there of the movie Walking with the Enemy on May 10. “We’ve gotten great reviews on other test screenings, and we’re excited to show it in a community like Sauk Centre to get feedback from the public,” stated producer Mark Schmidt of Liberty Studios in California.

Jonas Armstrong, All You Need is Kill, Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Preview

aynik icon1 This great preview article about All You Need is Kill starring Jonas Armstrong next to Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt just landed in my mailbox. :D

Beware of major *SPOILERS* though if you continue to read the article as it gives an in-depth preview of the plot as it also reviews the Sci_Fi novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka upon which the film is based on.  You can read all about it on the IGN website.

You can buy the novel on amazon if you’re interested. I bought the kindle copy three months ago, and I agree with IGN that the book was actually a really entertaining read and funny too! :) The film of course will be quite a bit different with the change of characters and personalities to fit with Tom Cruise as the lead…but none the less hope they kept as close to the novel as possible. If you read the novel you’ll know that Kiriya’s best friend would be the best fit for Jonas’ character in the film. I can only hope the part exists in the film and that they gave it to Jonas to play. Unless the writers came up with new characters and then we can only hope for the best really. Apart from the fact that Jonas is playing ‘Skinner’ nothing is known so far, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more news on that.

And yes a trailer or even a couple of stills would be rather awesome! :D

All You Need is Kill, Emily Blunt, Jonas Armstrong, Tom Cruise, TV interviews

aynik icon1I know I haven’t updated all that much on All You Need is Kill , mostly because well Jonas Armstrong is never really mentioned in all the ‘news’… as you can only imagine what google alert sends my way most of the time. Argh!

But at last some share – worthy news in the form of an interview with the very lovely Emily Blunt who’s promoting her new film with Colin Firth ‘Arthur Newman’ on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Tom Cruise happens to stop by as well to promote ‘Oblivion’. So naturally with them both on the sofa they briefly talked about ‘All You Need is Kill’ too – not in detail mind, but at least you get a bit of an insight. :)

You can watch the full episode HERE (if you live in the US) or watch clips of the interview on the NBC website by clicking HERE (just select the clip you want to watch under ‘Short clips’ the date is 04/25/13)

Ben Kingsley, Burn Gorman, Jonas Armstrong, release date, trailers, Walking with the Enemy

walking icon The Walking with the Enemy team have now officially announced the new members of the cast on their Facebook page last night! :D

Sir Ben Kingsley will play Regent Horthy and Burn Gorman will play SS Colonel Skorzeny. If you’re familiar with Burn’s work you’ll know there are not many great actors who can play the ‘bad guy’ so devilishly well as him! So really looking forward to his performance. Ben Kingsley is of course a legend! You can see him now as ‘The Mandarin’ in Iron Man 3 though he won’t play a villain role in Walking with the Enemy. Two more names were added to the cast list: Shane Taylor as Miklos Horthy Jr. and Ralph Brown as Gruzdev. The team promises to post new pics soon so just keep an eye out for those!

As for the big question: when will the film be released? I don’t know yet but I’ll be extremely glad to see it before the year is out. Having followed the progress with Twenty8k you should be aware that there are so many factors at play when to release a film. Yes Walking with the Enemy has been 4 years in the making and it’s fair to say it has had its up and downs…but now it’s most definitely on the up! :D

They’ve managed to attract a big name to the cast list and that’s no offense to Jonas but if the plan was to release this epic movie worldwide (eg getting worldwide distribution) then they’re now in a much stronger position to achieve this. It’s the very first movie for Liberty Studios and unless you’re a big Hollywood Studio like Warner Bros. it’s bloody hard work getting your movie sold! So all the best of luck to them and fingers crossed it will all work out soon! :D  They’ve now finished some re-shoots in Romania just last month, but have no idea if Jonas Armstrong has to fly out there again after filming The Whale or if he’s all finished. If that’s all done , the post-production team will be hard at work again and when distributors are in place, then comes the big PR machine! New trailers have to be made, they’ve to finish the new website, get in touch with all the big Film magazines to get interviews done, let the critics view screenings etc etc… you see what I mean? ;) It won’t be done in just a snap of the fingers, so just be patient and keep supporting the team that’s so hard at work! They’ll get there you’ll see. :D

Ps: if you are looking for the trailers from previous posts, they’ve now all been taken down or set to ‘private’. Which is another indication they’re probably working on new ones!

A couple of Updates

All You Need is Kill, Hit and Miss, Jonas Armstrong, Prisoners' Wives, Walking with the Enemy

walking icon Just a couple of updates on Jonas Armstrong’s projects in this post.

Filming has wrapped last weekend on All You Need is Kill and it has now gone into post-production. Sadly there’s still zero concrete info on Jonas’s character ‘Skinner’, let alone releases of on set pics or promo images of any kind, unlike loads of Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise in character filming in London… So we’ll just have to wait closer to release date I’d guess before we learn more. Speaking of release dates: Belgium (YAY! :D ) will be able to see the film in cinemas ahead of the UK and US as it’s set to be released on the 5th of March 2014! This is quite a milestone really lol, always wondered if I’d ever be able to see Jonas in a film, playing in my local cinema and now I will! :D

Second update in this post is about Walking with the Enemy. Filming re-shoots is starting on Monday the 18th of March in Romania. As I mentioned below, they’ve added new members to the cast! Sir Ben Kingsley I already mentioned, and now Burn Gorman  (if you watch Revenge (ABC) you’ll know him as a member of the Initiative ;) ) is also playing along! No idea still if Jonas needs to head back to Romania for extra scenes or not… But do wish the entire cast & team loads of fun while filming! :D Now while they are doing re-shoots, they are also continuing test screening of the movie, so hopefully this means that not that much needs improving upon. Will keep fingers crossed that all goes well and that we get to see it before 2013 ends.

Third and lastly have to mention Prisoners’ Wives as Series 2 started last week on BBC One. Yes Jonas Armstrong may not appear in it anymore but please do watch it! The first episode was absolutely brilliant and instead of Jonas – his Hit and Miss co star Karla Crome has taken his place. ;)

Jonas Armstrong, Walking with the Enemy

walking icon Waiting for a bit more news on this but apparently none other than the great Sir Ben Kingsley is joining the cast of Walking with the Enemy! :D

Naturally if they’re adding to the cast this will mean for sure more re-shoots. Well I was wondering since the IMDB status was set back to filming weeks ago. Not sure yet if Jonas Armstrong will have to get back to Romania too, BUT if so I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to be working with such a talented acting legend.

With more re-shoots and filming work, this does mean a potential release date set back. Though fingers crossed the production team can get it all finished before the end of 2013. :)
